Things to do in St Davids in the Rain

You can still have a lot of fun outdoors in the rain (honest)! Here are some suggestions – we hope you all have a great time.

It’s obvious but it’s often warmer in the water than out of it and a bit of rain won’t get in the way of enjoying surfing at Whitesands beach or Newgale.

Coasteering is fun whatever the weather and your guides will be able to advise you on the best locations given the weather conditions so that you can maximise the fun whilst minimising the pain of the weather!

If you’re really up for a challenge then consider kitesurfing at Newgale, something Pembrokeshire’s breezes are really good for!

If you want something land-based for a change then the guys at Battlefield Live will give you the opportunity to blast away your frustrations about the weather and leave with a smile on your face.

If the weather is really challenging and you want to escape indoors:

Scolton Manor – Victorian country house museum near Haverfordwest, surrounded by 60 acres of park and woodland, play area for children, dogs welcome in the park on a lead. Excellent value and lots to do for all the family.

St Davids Cathedral – a beautiful building which brings St Davids history alive, with its ancient architecture, stone carvings and beautiful stained glass. The Cloisters gallery houses art exhibitions and there’s an internationally acclaimed series of musical events each year.

Bishops Palace St Davids – bit of a cheat this one since much of it is open but it’s a fabulous historical ruin with a wonderful atmosphere and some shelter 🙂 .
