Venture Jet is owned and run by its skippers, Tim Brooke and Beth Swan, who do all the skippering, guaranteeing over 30 years' experience on every trip. For us it's a passion, sharing our love of the sea, the wildlife and jet boats, exploring as only jet boats can! We are jet boat specialists, offering adventurous wildlife boat trips, corporate and commercial charter. Please see the Activities page for more information on passenger trips.
The boat may be hired with skipper and crew for up to twelve passengers. For private or commercial hire please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Commercial and Film Charter
We have over 30 years' experience in providing solutions for film and scientific crews in challenging marine environments. We offer expert advice on marine locations, wildlife and tidal information, competitive pricing, flexibility – we will do everything we can to facilitate your work and maintain a safe, pleasant and professional working environment.
The boat provides a stable working platform, good storage and working deck space, excellent manoeuvrability, added safety and operational advantages of no propellers. The jet enables total control of forward / reverse, enabling us to remain stationary in strong currents and we can operate safely in very shallow water (approx 18 inches).
The boat conforms both to the Marine Coastguard Agency Passenger Boat Code and to the more stringent Workboat Code (essential for work other than passenger tours) and we have Green Dragon Environmental Accreditation.
Clients include: BBC, S4C, ITV, Red Bull International, Adidas Extreme Kayaking, Big O Productions, FFlic Productions, Indus Films, RSPB, Greenpeace, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, the Universities of Queen's Belfast, Plymouth and Exeter.
Stag, Hen and Group Trips
We can tailor our existing trips to you or we can invent a trip around your needs: relaxing wildlife and cave exploration or really 'Wet and Wild' adventures! The boat can be yours for an hour or two (or more, should you wish!). You choose the activity and the itinerary (weather and sea conditions permitting). Popular activities include: seal, porpoise or bird watching, exploring local beaches and caves, having a go at driving the boat or learning basic sea skills.
Or for the ultimate day out combine one of our trips with a coasteering or kayaking session.
Group discounts are available.
School & University Groups
We can tailor our existing trips to you to address key learning outcomes or we can invent a trip around your needs, focusing on wildlife or geology and caves, with the bonus of some jet manoeuvres: education can be fun! Educational discounts are available.
If you want to challenge, reward, incentivise or simply re-energise your team we can create a package for you. Dr Beth Swan has experience internationally in professional development training and will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
Paddling the Bitches by Kayak
Want to paddle the Bitches and need a support boat as back-up, film platform (or water taxi if you’re tired at the end)? We have over 30 years’ experience safely navigating the Bitches and the tidal currents of Ramsey Sound.
The boat is designed to maximise deck and storage space – handy for stowing kayaks, boards or just spare kit for your marine adventures.
Surfing the Bitches by Kayak or Board
The jet allows us to effectively ‘hover’, to remain stationary in strong currents and we can operate safely in very shallow water (approx 18 inches). This unique manoeuvrability means we can take you exactly where you need to go and if it all goes momentarily pear shaped and you end up in the water, we can pick you up with no risk from propellers. We can even drive you up through the tide and drop you off at the right point for you to paddle back through, saving you time and energy.
Coasteering by Jet Boat
For the ultimate coasteering day out we can take your group to your coasteering session by sea or collect your group from your coasteering point and drop you off at a harbour for a meal or at a beach to relax. We don’t have the limitations of conventional prop-driven boats so can operate safely in very shallow water (approx 18 inches) with no risk of propellers to swimmers / people wading out to the boat.
